Prepaid Web Mail
Otesat-Maritel's web admin service, Prepaid Web Mail is a service aimed at terrestrial users wishing to send an e-mail like message to ships equipped with an Inmarsat-C terminal on board.
Although the message that will be dispatched in the Inmarsat-C terminal is similar with an e-mail message, since it is constituted by "From", "To", "Subject" and "Body", the user is not required to be an owner of an e-mail account.
Before using the service the user should have an account. The account includes a Username and a Password for security reasons, which is provided by Otesat-Maritel. All service's information transfered via the Internet are encrypted using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol, certified by VeriSign, the most recognized name in online security. This means that Otesat-Maritel gives service visitors an easy and reliable way to establish trust online.
